The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 2011 under the School of Mathematics and Computing Sciences. Presently, there are 4 permanent teaching faculty actively engaged in teaching and research. The Department offers M.Sc. (Computer Science), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), and Ph.D. Programmes.

| Eligibility | Candidates who have secured at least 55% of aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/Cat-I/Physically challenged) of equivalent grade under grading system, in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from the recognized Universities / Institutions. Candidates who have qualified UGC (JRF) Examinations/NET/SET/SELT can directly appear for the interview. |

| Admission Procedure | Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, conducts Ph.D. admissions through an entrance test in respective subjects. Applications must be submitted online via the UUCMS portal. Admission is made as per the reservation policy and directions issued by the Government of Karnataka and University rules. |

| Eligibility | Students who have successfully completed a three-year science degree course or any other three-year/four-year degree course, BCA, B.E., B.Tech. (Computer Science and Engineering/Information Science and Engineering) with minimum 45% of marks in aggregate at degree level are eligible to apply. Relaxation of 5% is allowed for SC/ST/Cat-I. |

Prof. Palainahkote shared knowledge on advanced computational methods and their applications in research, and provided insights into image processing techniques.
