Dr. Bhavanishankara B. is serving as the Librarian (In-charge) at the Central Library of Kitturu Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. He obtained his Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from Mangalore University and earned his Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Kittur Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, in 2020.

He has published more than 30 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conference proceedings, contributing significantly to the advancement of Library and Information Science. His major research interests include Library Automation, Information Seeking Behaviour, User Education, and Information Services for Rural and Academic Communities.

Dr. Bhavanishankara B. has been actively involved in transforming the University Library into a modern, technology-driven, and user-centric knowledge hub. He has played a key role in implementing library automation, strengthening digital library services, and promoting the effective use of electronic resources, thereby enhancing the accessibility, efficiency, and quality of library services.

He is committed to fostering a culture of reading, lifelong learning, and research among students, faculty members, and scholars. To achieve this, he regularly organizes academic and outreach programmes, including Library Week celebrations, book exhibitions, information literacy programmes, user orientation sessions, research awareness workshops, and other knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Dr. Bhavanishankara B. is a Life Member of the Indian Library Association (ILA) and the Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS).

With a strong commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and quality library services, Dr. Bhavanishankara B. continues to contribute significantly to the modernization, development, and effective management of the Central Library at Kittur Rani Channamma University, Belagavi
