Functioning of Finance Department

• Preparation of annual budget of the University (Financial estimate).
• Maintenance & Utilisation of grants from Govt./ Govt Departments as per respective guidelines.
• Preparation of budget for salary.
• Accounting of all Receipts & Payments.
• Generation of Salary bills through HRMS for payment of salary to the staff of the University.
• Responsible for deduction & Remittances of various statutory taxes like IT, GST, PT, EPF, filing of returns as per rules.
• Preparation of annual accounts and reconciliation of accounts through Tally Software.
• Facilitation of annual Audit by Statutory Auditors, Karnataka State Audit & Accounts department.
• Consolidation of compliances received from concerned departments to Audit report issued by KSAAD and submission of the same to both Houses of State Government.
• Adhoc committees for dropping of audit paras.
• Sakala, RTI related works.
• Performing PFMS Payments.
• File management through e-office.
• Works related to various projects & Programmes.
• Scrutiny of all vouchers. (Related to rules)
• Advice & opinion on all matters with Financial implications.
• Audit by CA as per section 12(A) of IT Act and filing of returns.
