Activities of CDC Section regarding Affiliation Process
Publishing affiliation notification in newspapers.
Notification will be published in 3 Kannada and 1 English
newspaper.
Information regarding various types of affiliation
applications, regulations related to affiliation, and fees will be uploaded on the Rani Channamma
University website (www.rcub.ac.in).
The affiliation notification contains details of application
procedure and prescribed dates.
Receiving various types of affiliation applications from
institutions/colleges.
Verifying the affiliation applications submitted by colleges.
Registering the applications submitted by colleges in the
register (College name, Code number, Details of courses applied for affiliation, Type of affiliation,
Fee details, Date of payment, Challan No., etc.).
As per University regulations, applications of colleges
applying for affiliation will be placed before the Syndicate meeting for consideration.
Local Inquiry Committees (LIC) will be constituted for
inspection of colleges.
The committee will be constituted with a Senior Professor as
Chairman, comprising three or four members including Associate Professors, and one member from SC/ST
category will be appointed in the committee.
After constituting the committees, they will be sent for
inspection of colleges taluk-wise.
A letter containing the schedule of colleges to be visited,
course and type of affiliation will be given to the committee members, and a letter with details of
the date of the committee's visit will be sent to the college.
Vehicle will be provided from the CDC section for the
committee members to visit the colleges.
Receiving the inspection report from the committee after
visiting the college.
Scrutinizing the said reports and separating reports that are
recommended and not recommended.
The reports submitted by the committee will be placed first
before the Academic Council meeting and then before the Syndicate meeting.
Proposals for various types of affiliations requiring
government approval, such as affiliation of new colleges, affiliation of new undergraduate and
postgraduate courses, affiliation of new languages and optional subjects, permanent affiliation, and
enhancement of intake for postgraduate/professional undergraduate courses, will be prepared and
submitted to the Government for further action.
Letters will be sent to colleges regarding fulfillment of
conditions mentioned in the report given by the Local Inquiry Committee for colleges applying for
continuation/extension and enhancement of intake to be granted at the University level.
After verifying the compliance report submitted by the
colleges regarding fulfillment of conditions, action will be taken to send the notification of
continuation/extension and letter of enhancement of intake to the colleges.
Other Activities
Undertaking the affiliation process through online mode as
per Government direction.
Verifying the educational qualifications of Principals and
Teaching Staff serving in colleges and giving approval for the post they are holding.
Handling matters related to closure, merger, shifting, and
change of name of colleges.
Proposals submitted by colleges for obtaining 2(f) and 12(B)
recognition will be sent to UGC New Delhi/Bangalore for further action.
MRP proposals, Building Development proposals, Women's Hostel
Building proposals, and CPE proposals submitted by colleges will be sent to the University Grants
Commission.
Issuing No Objection Certificate (NOC) as per NCTE
regulations regarding starting of Education courses.
The CDC section functions as per the advice and guidance of
UGC, AICTE, NCTE, and Government of Karnataka.
