Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)


Preamble

IQAC is a mechanism to build and ensure quality consciousness and develop a quality culture in the university. IQAC means guidance, planning, and monitoring required for internal assurance and quality enhancement activities in universities. It is a body that maintains a hierarchical structure or records of the university. IQAC acts as a catalyst and removes deficiencies through intervention strategies.

Post NAAC accreditation, educational institutions must have a visionary objective. In this direction, NAAC emphasizes the establishment of IQAC in all educational institutions. Quality improvement should be an integral part of the institution's operations. The main mission of IQAC is to formulate and implement good policies, ideas, and plans, and to determine a standard for the academic and administrative activities of the institution. Another mission of IQAC is to create awareness of new policies and quality activities in institutions by organizing workshops, seminars/exhibitions, and discussions.

Another importance of IQAC is that financial grants required for university development depend on the establishment and functioning of IQAC. Otherwise, there will be obstacles in the sanctioning of grants. In this direction, establishing IQAC in universities is very important.

Rani Channamma University will be a benchmark of academic excellence, in disseminating and advancing knowledge in a globalized world, where the convergence of inter-disciplinary studies and research emerges to create a new pool of world-class human resource for the well-being of the society.

  • Foster educational programmes in various disciplines based on interaction with society and industry.
  • Review and design co-curricular activities to develop the overall personality of the students and blend professionalism with ethics enabling students to face the challenges of contemporary society.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Preparation and submission of Self Study Report (SSR) of the University for NAAC accreditation processes.
  • Submission of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to NAAC annually to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Year-wise analysis of stakeholder feedback on curriculum design and relevance.
  • Year-wise analysis of student feedback on teaching-learning processes.
  • Conducting Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA) for the overall development of the University.
  • Conducting Green, Energy, and Environment audits to promote sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
  • Conducting IQAC Advisory Committee meetings periodically for strategic planning and monitoring.
  • Organizing workshops, seminars, and special lectures for quality enhancement to strengthen academic and administrative performance.
  • Preliminary verification of applications of university faculty under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) as per UGC guidelines.

Activities


  • IQAC, RCUB has submitted the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) for the academic year 2021-22 on 27-02-2023, for the academic year 2022-23 on 29-04-2024, and the 3rd AQAR report on 29-04-2024 to NAAC.
  • Organized Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Digital Fluency Course” in collaboration with National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) via Zoom (Online) on 20-11-2021.
  • Conducted a one-day workshop on “Hand Holding Programme on Assessment and Accreditation Process of NAAC” at Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College on 07-10-2022.
  • Organized a one-day orientation program “Rural Development” (Grama Vikasa) in collaboration with Grama Vikasa Gatividhi, Dharwad at Kuvempu Auditorium, Rani Channamma University on 13-08-2022.
  • Organized a one-day workshop on “Insights into Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Filing Process” at Kuvempu Auditorium, Rani Channamma University on 10-12-2021.
  • Conducted a one-day workshop on “Ways to Transform Higher Education through R&D Programs” at Kuvempu Auditorium, Rani Channamma University on 16-05-2023.

  • Celebrated the 25th Anniversary of “Kargil Vijay Diwas” and honored ex-servicemen of Rani Channamma University at Kuvempu Auditorium on 26-07-2024.
  • Organized Internal AAA Committee (Mock) visit on 18th, 19th, and 20th September 2024.
  • Organized a one-day workshop on “Enriching Life through Value Education” for RCU students of Belagavi in collaboration with Disha Bharat, Bengaluru at Kuvempu Auditorium on 20-11-2024.
  • Internal AAA Committee (Mock) was constituted and visited various departments of Rani Channamma University on September 18, 19, and 20, 2024, to address development and grievances of departments.
  • Organized a special lecture on "Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Research" by IQAC Cell at Kuvempu Auditorium, Main Campus, Rani Channamma University on 28.05.2025 at 3.30 PM.
  • IQAC and Teachers' Association, RCU, Belagavi are organizing “Vidwan-Monthly Dialogue” program in the last week of every month. On 31.05.2025 and 28.06.2025, Prof. P. M. Gurubasavaraj, Dept. of Chemistry and Prof. Vinayak Bankapur, Dept. of Library and Information Science were invited as resource persons.
  • Organized a one-day National Level Workshop on “Sustainable Development Goals - Indian Knowledge System - IPR and Accreditation Process” under PM-USHA-MERU Soft Component 20 on 19-09-2025.
  • Organized a one-day workshop on “NAAC Reforms 2024: Binary Accreditation Process” for teaching and non-teaching staff of RCUB to give a brief introduction about new NAAC reforms 2024 on 25-10-2025.
