The emergence of ICT has fundamentally changed the practices of not only business and governance but education as well. The boom in Information Technology has transformed the way how knowledge is disseminated today. There has been an unprecedented growth in the use of ICTs in teaching, research and extension activities.
The IT-CELL of the Rani Channamma University had been established in the year 2011 in the intention of overcoming the drawbacks of technical things, The IT Cell is the authority of the University which monitors the entire It-Infrastructure of the Rani Channamma University, Belagavi and has taken initiation to build strong network between all PG-Centre’s of the Rani Channamma University. IT- Cell will be governed by the members under the chairmanship of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, The Registrar, Deputy Registrar and the IT Coordinator.
Information Technology (IT) cell at Rani Channamma University includes the work related to the website development and management, information technology, digitalization, Digital India initiative, liaison/coordination with National Informatics Centre (NIC), etc.

The Rani Channamma University, Belagavi had been initiated many e-services whichever directed by the state Higher Education Department and Council also the ICT initiatives of the central Govt. The ICT Initiatives pertaining to the Academic, Administrative and Student perspective web portals/e-portals had been brought in use. The list of E-services operates at University are SAKALA, SEVA SINDHU, E-SPANDANA, STATE SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL, E-OFFICE, E-GOVERNANCE PORTAL, PFMS (PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM), etc. The main aim is to automate the administration process for stepping towards automation of Office to bring transparency and efficiency in administration.
