Government of India has released a grant of Rs.5.78 crores during the year 2017-18 for the establishment of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Study Chair in Rani Channamma University, Belagavi. In tune with the University Motto of ‘Vidwan Sarvrtra Poojyate’ (The scholar worshiped everywhere) Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Study Chair aims to realize value based society, inclusive education with quality and manpower with integrity and sensitivity. Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Study Chair seeks to realize these objectives by promoting the ideas and ideals propagated by 20th century real patriot, Intellectual, Socio-cultural organizer and self-esteemed personality Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
To promote scholarly studies and extension services based on the ideas and ideals of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
To conduct appropriate research studies and community engagement programs to translate the ideas of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya into practical propositions of ‘Integral Humanism’.
| Eligibility | Candidates who have passed any graduate degree of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi or any other University recognized as equivalent to degree are eligible for the admission to P.G. Diploma in Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Studies. The candidates who are pursuing a Master Degree/Ph.D./any other regular courses are also eligible for admission to this course. |

| Admission Criteria | The candidates will be selected for admission as per the general guidelines issued by Rani Channamma University, Belagavi from time to time. Maximum intake for the P.G. Diploma will comprise of 60 students as per university admission policy on first come first serve basis. If the number of applications exceeds the intake limit, roaster will be followed as per Rani Channamma University Guidelines. |
| Mode of Study | Each paper shall be treated as a unit for the purpose of calculating attendance. Every student has to satisfy the required attendance for each paper. If he/she has less than 75% of the total number of instructional hours during the academic year, he/she is not eligible to appear for the examination. There is no provision for condoning shortage of attendance. |
| Programme Duration | The Programme of study “Post- Graduate Diploma in Pt. Deenayal Upadhyaya Studies" shall extend over a period of one academic year (Non-Semester) along with other P.G Programmes of the Rani Channamma University. |
| Scope | The introduction of course in this context assumes a great significance, it provides an understanding of the concept of nationality, which is much sought after this movement in addition to this course, binds the souls of Indian youth to build a stronger society, community and the nation through Deendayal Upadhyaya’s concept of Integral Humanism. |
| Career Prospects | P.G Diploma Degree becomes an added advantage to the students. |

General Activities:
Various workshops, special lectures, and training programs were organized including "Unlocking Your Entrepreneurial Potential", "Science in Indian Heritage", "Present Indian Education System and it’s Status", "Sugarcane Yield in the Indian Agricultural System", and many more across different colleges and venues.
Activities included Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya 108th Birth Anniversary, special lectures, Health and Eye Checkup Camp, training on Government Schemes, National Level Seminar on "Ekatma Manav Darshan", publication of "Power of Knowledge" journal, and Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme for Girl Students.
Several special lectures on "Pt. Deendayal Updhyaya Ekatma Manavatavad" were held at various colleges. Other activities included Women Empowerment lecture, Health Camp, Swami Vivekanand Birth Anniversary celebration, and distribution of school and hygiene kits.
Events included Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Birth Anniversary Programme, special lectures on "Aatma Nirbhar Bharat" and "Ekatma Manavatavad", Punyasmarane Programme, and sponsorship for International Conference on "SWARAJ".
Activities involved Food Kit Distribution, special lectures on "Swarajya – 75", Book Publications, Essay Competition for Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Death Anniversary Program, Advisory Committee Meeting, Cleanliness campaign, and lecture on organic farming.
