  • Courses:

The Course Curriculum is most current and exhaustive aimed at decolonizing the English studies. While most Universities continue to focus on British Literature, the department has focused in New Literatures in English produced in post colonial societies. Further, courses on such frontier areas like Translation Studies, Gender Studies, Comparative Literature and Culture Studies have been introduced. Catering to the societal demands and requirements of the globalised world, a cluster of courses focusing on Linguistics, Phonetics, Modern English Grammar and English Language Teaching are also included. Another stream of courses from Poetics of Aristotle and Bharatha to the theories of cultural politics in the post structural and post modern era, equip the students to respond to the nuances of literary texts.
